My Baby!??!

I've come to expect the newfound independence from my 4 year old, and I love seeing her grow up... BUT FROM MY 19 MONTH OLD?!? For some reason, this actually hurts more than seeing Kylie grow into her new phases. (I guess it's a good thing Baby Girl #3 is on her way)

Kacey's been realizing that she can do more lately, and probably thinking that I hold her back... going upstairs all by herself, wanting to walk not be held, wanting to play in the playlands not just sit with Momma and eat and watch Kylie. Case and point yesterday- she's ready to run down the inclined driveway and I can just see her feet moving faster than her body and her busting her head open.... so I held her back. After fighting with me trying to pull away, she turns around and gives me this mean look (like how dare you!) smacks my hand and looks me straight in the face and says, "NO Mommy!"
This morning our newfound independence was, "I donwanna seat." She didn't want to go in her high chair seat, she wanted to eat like Kylie does at the table. Ugh, getting to the stages where I can no longer strap her in and contain her. Can't wait until I make speghetti for dinner, that should be pretty! So here's Little Miss eating her toast at the kitchen table. She actually ate really well and didn't get up until she was all done. Although I had Little Einstiens on in the background and they "pat pat pat their hands" so her little buttery hands got all over her legs as she was pat, pat, patting.
OH, I love that little one and her cheesing smiles.

Is it bedtime yet?

The worst time in our house is after dinner to before bed. For some reason, rules just don't matter anymore, nobody listens... toys are brought out into the halls for baseball/soccer chaos and Matthew and I are looking at eachother like, "they take after you."
Yesteday night was particularly bad. We had recorded a show from the night before and were trying to watch it. We set the girls up really nice in the toy room: Shrek, water bottles, and pretzels for a snack. But they kept leaving the toy room and running like little lions (with the accompanying growls) around our table in the family room. So we (Matthew got the bright idea) gated them up in the toy room. As you can see from all the tears, it wasn't effective or successful in any way and the gate stayed up to pretty much take pictures and capture the moment, because it was hilarious in person!!!

Sunday Morning

This little girlie went to church...

AND, This little girlie stayed home...

I'm not sure if it's teething, at least that's what I thought it was at first. She's always putting something in the back of her mouth to chomp on. But she's also very stuffed up at night (we're running a cool water humidifier all night), nose running all day long, and it's all accompanied by a lovely cough. She's also a tad bit emotional, she's a cryer anyways, but lately it's been bad- she can dish it out, but she can't take it.... you look at her funny, and she'll cry for 15 minutes. So everyday we've had the water works, and I don't mean that with a lack of sensitivity. She's got tears streaming down her face, her nose is running down her mouth, and drool all down her chin- aka water works like you wouldn't believe!!! Needless to say, her and I stayed home from church, she just looks sick and I can't imagine her attempting Nursery today. And I'd prefer not standing in the hall for 3 hours trying to comfort her :)

I'm bound to get it if it is a cold. She's been sleeping in our bed in spurts throughout the past few nights, mainly because I'm a paranoid mother... her breathing is so labored at night that I'm worried and can't sleep. So her hot little breath in my face as we're propped up on the pillow for a few hours each night and her slimy leftover tissues makes for sweet little germies all over me... Oh, she also kicks Matthew in the head a few times at night while she sleeps with us (I crack up) I'm sure just to let him know that she knows he's there and she loves him. Fingers crossed I don't get this, I refuse to take meds (other than prenatals) while pregnant. Mainly so I can hold it over their heads and guilt them about it in 15 years or so. :)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! This was the best Easter I think we have ever had. I'm not sure if it's the girls' ages, or if last year was just too hectic because the house was for sale and we were too focused on packing... but yesterday was so much fun!

The girls don't get that Christ died and was resurrected 3 days later and that's why we celebrate Easter, in fact Kylie doesn't know what death is... and I'm not ready for that conversation, so our Easter was pretty much about eating and Easter Egg Hunts. I'm so proud of these dresses (and yes, I have a 3rd), with the affixed ribbon and flowers... took a lot longer than it looks... much less trying to get the dresses on the girls w/o too much of a production!

These are from our 1st of 3 Egg Hunts. The girls and I thought we heard the Easter Bunny, so we'd go out front to call for him and see if we could find him. But he was really outback hiding eggs. He was also very clever about where he hid them (Kacey- in the wheel of the bike).

This was on Saturday, coloring Easter eggs. (Kylie looks a bit tired, her and I spent about 2 hours at the pool.)

HAWAII

Uncle Bryan and Aunt Rosie went to Hawaii for a week and brought the girls back matching t-shirts. You can't see it too well, but they are adorable shirts- with palm trees, turtles, the sun, and beach balls.
Matthew and I are incredibly envious of their vacation, I mean so happy for them that they had such a fun time and have such great memories before getting tied down with kids... and they rubbed it in with a pretty postcard showing off the beaches and the fabulous weather. :)
Thanks for thinking of us, we love you guys! Hope to see you soon!!!

My Joy...

We all know that my joy is matching my girls' clothes (and funny thing, I swore I would NEVER be that mom), I'm getting a 3rd girl and let's face it... I need to prepare!!!

So every few days I hop on ebay for my favorite dresses, to match for baby girl #3. ..which of course are not being sold at the stores/online anymore. Proud to say, that I have been victorious and I must agree that it is more exciting when you win it... "new with tags" never sounded better, especially with a winning bid of $5. (My poor mother-in-law, it pains me to think how much she spent on these dresses for Kylie and Kacey originally, but they are beautiful/high quality dresses.)
The girls will be wearing a white dress on Easter, one just came in the mail today (for baby girl #3) from ebay... Anyway, this is the next dress I'm bidding on, auction ends in 4 hours (bid is $3.57 and $2.50 shipping, how awesome is that?!).
I have two options, go smaller for new baby or buy larger for Kylie and everyone trade down. I think life will be easier in the future if instead of cleaning closets and moving clothes, everyone just switches bedrooms!!!

An affectionate sister choke hold :)

My baby's 4 today!

Okay, I am proud of my cake and Kylie helped make it and was in charge of the sprinkles... it tastes perfect... I have secrets if you're interested. Anyway, I figure I'd make this year's because a "5" seems a little harder- we'll buy one next year.
This was about 7 this morning, Kylie opened her presents. She got rollerskates with elbow and knee pads, 3 bubble makers, and the new doll that swims... (fyi, i know some of you mom's are looking into it-- it's so not worth it, it's loud, it freaked Kylie out because it doesn't look as easy as on the commercial, in fact she threw it out of the tub and said she didn't want it anymore... fun times)
At Peter Piper Pizza playing games.
The basketball game is a family fave.
Kacey just had a great time playing with the birthday balloons from Yaya and Papa.
SO...

Kylie spent her birthday at Peter Piper Pizza, just with family. I seriously debated on doing the whole "party" thing, but I didn't have the energy and ultimately I didn't think she'd mind just having us... let it be publicly known, I will make up for it in next year's party.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIG GIRL!!! :)
**********************

We've already taken some pictures, because Kylie wanted to open her presents right away!!! I'll post them tonight with the others from the day. I'm very proud of my cake, too!

BUT, indulge me for a moment. Four years ago, I spent the night at Jordan Valley Hospital, my amniotic fluid was very low so they wanted to induce me. I was thrilled because my guess in the date pool was the 18th. At 8:30 am, they gave me petocin... by 9:30 am, I desperately wanted the epidural. Apparently, I was last on the list because it was my first child, blah blah, everyone else got to go first. It took Mr. Epidural Man 3 hours to get to me!!! The whole time I was sending Matthew in the hall to go and get someone, "BRING SOMEONE BACK!" He'd run out there like what am I supposed to do, there's no one here. Finally, I got my epidural- I had got to an 8 on my own- then I fell asleep from noon-4, waking up on and off to see Matthew whispering on the phone with all the family. My water broke on it's own sometime while I slept, Kylie worked her little way down the birth canal, no pain on my part. Matthew was on the phone with my mom giving updates, the doctor walked in, he hung up, I practically sneezed and out Kylie came (it was cake! but Kacey's was payback so don't be envious). Matthew called my mom back, she thought he was joking about it all being over. :)

6 pounds, 3 oz. 18 inches long. I can't believe it's been 4 years!

Lost in a Moment

Ever just have one little moment and it just throws you back to another time...

Matthew and Kylie went to see Horton Hears a Who. Kacey was napping. I was organizing baby girl #3's new closet (well, I was helping... my mom was the brains and energy behind it all)

ANYWAYS, we're going through bins and I found a the little blue/pink hat that we got from the hospital. I remember Kacey wore it for like 3 weeks straight, because she had no hair and all our other hats were huge on her small sweet head. So, I pick it up (awwwwwwwwwwww, enters into my brain). And I smell it............... my knees buckled. It still smelled like her baby smell. Mind you nothing else in the bin smelled like that baby smell, but when I open the little hat, where her little head would go in... it smelled like her as a baby.

Hours later, I remember to go and have Matthew smell it... it's nice to know that I'm not a crazy, pregnant women hallucinating smells, he could smell it too. I have it with me and I keep smelling it like I'm addicted, but I'm afraid I'm going to smell it all away so I'll probably tuck it away in one of my drawers.

FUN!

It took me forever to find one, because we are really limited with the backyard space. Our backyard is an "L" shape... and let's face it, lots are not plentiful here in Vegas. So this one was a nice fit for us. It's about 11 feet high, that inclined rock wall is 6 feet, so it should be large enough to keep the girls' interest for a few years.
I was getting really anxious too because the weather has been GORGEOUS lately, (right now it's 79, I'm totally bragging to you cold people right now) and Kylie's just playing with her sad little chalk pieces outback.
So, the playset should arrive in about 10 days, I just can't wait to tire the girls out on it so they fall asleep fast and sleep good through the night! :)
(yes that was my true motive, and for that purpose alone it's worth every penny!)

Oh SO Yummy!

So today, it was placed in my mind that I wanted Cafe Rio (thanks Erin :) hehe). There's one in Summerlin and I have yet to go... (yes it's been about 3 years since my last Cafe Rio experience)... and I had to muster up the energy anyways today to meet Matthew at work because we needed to buy a new computer (every morning this one starts is a shock to me)...

SO we went to Cafe Rio for lunch. I had my yummy grilled chicken salad, ahhhhhhhhhhh. It's so funny because we were sitting there and Matthew looks at me and he goes, "you're gonna put this on the blog, huh?" YUP! It was so fabulous, and there wasn't even a line. I mean, in Utah, by BYU I remember standing in line for 60-90 minutes to get the fabulous salad I crave. There were like 4 people in line, it was marvelous, made my day!!!

THE RESULTS ARE IN!!!

McMullins, Stolworthys... make room for us too! Now, for those of you who don't go to church with us that makes no sense. So, I'll explain. They are two families in our ward that have ALL girls, because apparently WE DO TOO!!! YES, THE RESULTS ARE IN AND (with a 95% accuracy reading) THEY SAY BOYD BABY #3 IS A GIRL!

PS... I knew it all along!!! With each of my girls, I have had a dream where I find out what I'm having. I'm not big into dreams but I really value these, I remember them so vividly and they seem so real to me. Without too many details, I had a dream about 4 nights ago for this pregnancy... and I just knew it was a girl :)

Mission: ORGANIZATION, Part II

This is what I'm doing to keep busy and NOT think about the tick tock of the clock and if I will see the results today or tomorrow... on a happy note, Kylie's closet and bedroom are all organized with her new furniture. Kacey's bedroom and closet is next, ugh... after that we'll go to the nursery (which is Maggie's bedroom and will need a complete overhaul).

I can't take credit for the pantry, it was all my mom. I laid on the couch in my pregnancy misery as she cleaned it all out, took 3 days and you know what I mean if you ever saw my pantry ... you couldn't even walk in it I had so much stuff piled on the floor.
I couldn't resist this one, she slept through all the cleaning.

Nothing Yet

Every time I see someone or get an email, everyone asks :)

I still know nothing, but I love that everyone's anxious and excited like I am. It's all I could think about last night, I even had a dream that I got the results.

SO, impatient me called to get the status. They said the "kit is in the lab for testing." And if the sample is ready today, I will know between 4:30-6:00 pm. If not, tomorrow for sure... possibly between the same times. I guess that's when all the updates come through. Anytime after tomorrow, they start crediting me $$$ back for inconvenience of the delay. But the gal I talked to, said she can guarantee I'll know by tomorrow. (hopefully, I won't have to stick out the whole day tomorrow and find out at 6 pm... but I do believe Heavenly Father has a sense of humor and might just make it happen that way)

As soon as I know, I will post... PROMISE! And I love all of you who are dutifully checking every day, even a few times a day, to see if there's any news!!!

Is it really March?!?

I love this weather!!! I can't say it enough!
Pretty in pink today for church. We didn't let Kylie wear the hat to church, I could forsee her standing in the parking lot in tears for her hat (it's a little windy) while Matthew would be running around trying to capture it. So, we didn't wear it to church, but we told her that she can on Easter.
***And I got a few questions today about the gender test, I should know by Tuesday afternoon/Wednesday at the latest... and I will post the results!!! :)

Preschool Trip to the Dentist

This was super fun! I got to go with "Tater Tots Preschool "to go meet Dr. Bryan the Dentist, who is Tate's dad and was so great with all the kids. I was really shocked by it all, well maybe impressed is a better word. The kids were so well behaved! They were quiet and polite. We all stayed in one room while there were other patients all around getting their teeth worked on.
I took pictures of all the kids whose moms I know, so here are your kids too! I was completely surprised that Kylie was so happy to sit in the chair, and she let him poke around in her mouth, very willingly and happy! This was such a great experience... I've been dreading taking her to the dentist (we had a pacifier for how long???) and this experience was fun and exciting and it's going to make our first "real" trip there so much easier! Thanks Tate, you're awesome!!!
This is James Hendricks, he was such the personality. I loved this picture with his mouth wide open! His mom told him that if he was good and sat in the chair and let Dr. Bryan help his teeth, then he was going to get beans in his jar, and then he'd get to play a special video game. Good job Rochelle, totally worked!
This is Mason Mohlman, he was so cute! He got in the chair and covered his eyes... I guess he was thinking, "if I can't see you, then it's really not that bad." But he was such a good sport about it. I don't think he really wanted to sit there, but he did it anyway :)
And here's Riley Mecham, she was so good! First one in the chair, happy as anything and very sweet to pose for a quick picture! She opened her mouth nice and wide and let Dr. Bryan look at all her teeth!

I love this weather!

Oh, I love this weather! My thermometer is reading 70, and it's supposed to be 72 tomorrow and Thursday! WOW! So I wish I could say that I took the girls to the park to enjoy the sun or let them play out front... (in what we call Boyd Circle because the whole circle is primarily our house)... but sadly I didn't. I did laundry and hours of ironing, I let Kylie mop the floor and unload the dishwasher... however she did find the time to dress herself this morning! How cute is she, crown and all!! Oh and I can't forget our gourmet meal for lunch... macaroni and cheese with hot dogs. I'll take the girls out Thursday.. tomorrow is our big preschool fieldtrip to the Dentist. I know you all will be anxiously waiting for the post tomorrow. :)

Test Day!

I keep finding other cute pictures from my camera that I didn't post. Obviously, this is from Disneyland... the Dumbo ride, a family favorite. And my personal favorite, because Matthew takes both of them and I relax my little self on a bench!

*****

So today is the big blood test day. It will take about a week to be processed to get the results. You all know that AS SOON as I find out, I will post it. Thanks to everyone who participated in the poll, that was fun! I especially love you people (you know who) who emailed me to tell me you voted girl (because you know I want a girl) even though you kinda think it could, maybe, slightly be a boy. :)
