Happy 2nd Birthday Kacey!

My baby turned 2 today! I can't believe it, she seems so small but so big at the same time! Here are some fun pictures from her special day.......

We like to open presents AS SOON AS we get up in this house!
We had a mini celebration with my folks at our favorite go-to place, Peter Piper. AND Kacey was playing the games and won 580 tickets in about 5 minutes!!!

I've got cupcakes galore- see cupcake mountain down more... any good recipes for leftover icing? :)

Awesome fun balloons!!!

So now indulge me for a few moments...

Kacey Elisa Boyd

September 5, 2006 (part of the 5% of babies actually born on their due dates)

6 lbs & 11 oz. and 21 in.

She was born at Summerlin Hospital, and Daddy helped Dr. Kahle deliver her. My epidural wore off with her, I'd barely had it for an hour- I'm not sure what happened. It was horrible :) Her blood pressure dropped, I was on oxygen, nurses were running in and out, it was crazy hectic fast... Matthew was frantic, but trying not to be in front of me, asking everyone 1,000 questions, then lying to me about the answers that I'd just heard the nurses say... I guess to calm me down... didn't work, but I appreciate the gesture. The nurses were pushing on my stomach while I was pushing her out, no time to get the epidural man back to me to ease my pain... then our sweet little Kacey finally came!!! (and didn't sleep for 12 months straight!!!) :) :) :) All I remember when she was born was saying, "it's still a girl right??!!!" and Matthew saying, "she looks like Kylie."

We are so blessed to have our little Kacey, she's definitely her own little person and I love her so much for that. She can be a pistol and a half... and you can't help but laugh, we are just so grateful that she chose to come to us!!!

***side note*** As I say it with complete shock, I think she's potty trained (???). 3 days now, dry diapers all day long and holds it to go on the potty-- nighttime and #2's a different story, but I'll take it. I didn't do a thing. Seriously, this wasn't in my game plan at all. I've got no problem with having 2 children in diapers, BUT apparently her and Kylie had other ideas. Fun little present for me! ;) Wah-oooooo!

Baby News

I had another dr appt today, no c-section needed, she's head down and placenta isn't in the way. She is however measuring a little small. I'm not too concerned because all my babies are small, Kylie 6.3 and Kacey 6.11 -of which I was pregnant the longest with her. He also said my amniotic fluid is marginal (why I was induced early with Kylie), but he said there are a few nice water pockets around so we'd give it the weekend.

I have to go back on Tuesday, and as we left he was calling Summerlin and Mountain View Hospitals to schedule my induction for later next week. I'm hoping for Friday the 12th, one full week after Kacey's birthday, but if he thinks it needs to happen sooner I guess there's not much I can do.... (I think that's why he was contacting both hospitals). So we'll see, exciting week ahead of us!

Thankful Thursday
1. Kacey's starting to use the potty all on her own with Kylie's encouragement, it's like the 2 of them are doing the potty training and I'm just sitting back watching it all! We'll see how long that lasts.
2. Finding one of Maggie's seizure pills on the floor before Kacey did. I guess Maggie chewed it and some fell out of her mouth. I'm so glad I got it before Kacey had a chance to swallow it, that could have been bad.
3. This sounds dumb but a really comfy pair of pajamas that I just got- love the fabric, love the fit, love them so much and can't wait to put them on!!!
4. Cooler September mornings. It warms up through the day, but those early mornings are fabulous!
5. Having the fastest best little soccer player... she's in a 4 yr old class which just so happens to be all boys and her... she's the fastest out of all of them, and the tallest, and she has awesome control of the ball. I love sitting there watching my girl kick some boy butt! :) Some of the dads get a little annoyed :) (hehe... sorry, that's bad of me but I still love it!)

First Day of Preschool

It's Kylie's first day of Preschool, going on year 2 with Mrs. Tate!
Kylie was SO excited, we were up/ready/dressed/eating breakfast by 7:15 this morning... (preschool starts at 9:00)

She was all decked out with curly ribbons in her hair and her Tinkerbell backpack- that she didn't take off all morning prior to leaving. She had a wonderful morning, was rewarded a penny (with 5 pennies she gets pick something special out of the treasure box at school) and can't wait to go back again on Thursday!!!
I can't believe kindergarten will be next year... I anticipate the tears- (mine) - already.
