Sunday Morning Pictures

Hmm, seems we're missing a few people. Kacey's not been feeling too well. Every 4-6 weeks, she develops some sort of cold: runny nose, watery eyes, a cough, fever. Boggles our minds as to why, but we've come to expect it now. It still makes me nervous, I check her temperature all night. She'll get up to 104... freaks me out. With Tylenol she comes down, but still... My poor child, the one who nursed significantly longer than her sisters, who should have the strongest immunity, totally doesn't. Poor thing. So her and I (and Kadyn) stayed home, watched a movie, ate some popcorn, and cuddled. (she gets mushy when she's sick and just wants to be held) However, I heard that there were only 2 kids today in the middle nursery, so maybe there's something going around.

Ugh, it's the last Sunday of 11 am church- that's the best time and I hate to switch... Next week we'll be titling these posts Sunday Afternoon Pictures.

Christmas!

Let the gluttony begin... seriously this year was overboard.

I say every year that we did too much and I vow to take it easier next year... never happens.

Santa came by our house around 10:30 Wed night (only took 2 hours for wrapping- amazing how quick I can be once I get going). We were tracking Santa on the computer and the girls knew they needed to fall asleep fast.

Christmas morning flew by in a whirlwind, we were up at 7 am. Thank you Kacey, she's always up at 7 and she always wakes everyone up. Opening presents was slightly chaotic, wrapping paper everywhere, everyone talking, Christmas music on in the background. It was fun, then all of a sudden it was 12:30 pm. Crazy.

Highlights:

Kylie's favorite gift: Pink digital camera. She'd taken nearly 200 pictures just in the morning, she won't put the camera down.

Kacey's favorite gift: Pony that links to the TV for learning games.

Kadyn's favorite gift: unknown, she's just happy to be apart of the group

But for argument sake, we'll say the doorway playhouse. In another few months, she'll be pulling herself up and this will be exciting for her.

My favorite gift: The massive dollhouse my parents bought for the girls, it's so awesome! I can't wait until the girls go to bed and I can have it all to myself. They got every single accessory for the furniture and the SUV. WOW!

Matthew's favorite gift: The gift I had to wait for all day Christmas Eve to sign for, from FedEx, his surprise ticket to the Rose Bowl. Row 5, I should be nominated for the Wife of the Year Award!

Christmas Eve Preparations

My grandmother- Oma, sends a large package of her homemade cookies every year. They were fabulous, however they didn't quite make it for Christmas. As Kacey would say, "we ate them all gone."

So the girls and I spent the morning making cookies--- that and Matthew's Christmas present was arriving today via FedEx and I had to sign for it, they wouldn't leave it... so we were pretty much stuck at home or Matthew was getting nada from Santa tomorrow. But it worked out... afterall, what's Christmas without cookies! And we need to have something to leave out for Santa tonight!

Kylie took this picture, she's doing really well with the camera. This is just prior to the "egg incident."

Kylie kept saying, "Mom I need help making the egg hatch." Kept repeating herself and Kacey would chime in. But I was still organizing my stuff, getting everything out, blah blah. So I'm telling her to just hold on. Well, the girls figured out how to hatch the eggs themselves. Kacey was NOT happy with the gooey stuff inside of an egg, as she's smearing it everywhere to get it off. Needless to say, with the second batch of cookies, they told me to "hatch" the 2 eggs.I had to show Kacey's precious little pigtails! I love them!!!! (mind you, she has the whip cream container in her mouth at this point)

We really did make cookies, somehow there was alot of eating during the whole process though.

Magical Forest

Last night, we went to the Magical Forest. This was our first year going, it's definitely going to be a yearly tradition! We were in the car ride going home and Kylie goes, "that was so much fun!"

Merry Monday

Monday's are merry with gingerbread men cookies (fabulously decorated with mini m&m's as eyes and buttons)! Thank you to my VT, my girls thought they were the cutest (and yummiest) things!

Milestone: Kadyn can hold her bottle. I love this stage!

Before he left this morning for meetings, I heard him say as he was walking into our closet, "Now what color are we wearing today?" I'm scarring everyone I'm sure! :) I tried to do green, but none of my Christmas dresses are green in Kacey's size. I have nearly 2 dozen Christmas dresses (I am not exaggerating, that's what happens when you have all girls) all ranging in sizes from 3 months to little girls 7/8, not one was green in Kacey's size range. What can you do!?

Thankful Thursday

1. Family Traditions~ we've developed quite a few over the years (like Chinese food on Christmas Eve, random!!) Here is a new one this year, The Elf on the Shelf. The girls named him Yart. Don't ask, I have no idea. We read it every night.
2. The SNOW! It really was cool, this is our first year here where it's snowed. Can't say I missed it over the past few years, but it really was fun. I still can't believe they called off school on account of this!

Kylie with snow in her hair. She was elated!3. Preschool Christmas Program- as expected, it was adorable! They had Santa hats and reindeer antlers. Oh and the cute little Christmas gift handprint, the gingerbread house... Tate goes all out!

4. Awesome Friends- Thank you to the awesome girls who battled the elements for our GNO last night. Super fun, you all are great... it was so fun and thanks for seeing Twilight (again with me).

5. And I'm thankful for a great birthday. Seriously isn't my husband the sweetest! He's the best. He did that post while I was out Wed evening... I kinda knew he had something up his sleeve when his reminder went off on his phone that said, "Blog About Nicole." Hehe, so I figured something was up. However, I do feel that he completely humilated me with the pictures, I really was a cute child. So here's my attempt at redeeming myself.
