Lost in a Moment

Ever just have one little moment and it just throws you back to another time...

Matthew and Kylie went to see Horton Hears a Who. Kacey was napping. I was organizing baby girl #3's new closet (well, I was helping... my mom was the brains and energy behind it all)

ANYWAYS, we're going through bins and I found a the little blue/pink hat that we got from the hospital. I remember Kacey wore it for like 3 weeks straight, because she had no hair and all our other hats were huge on her small sweet head. So, I pick it up (awwwwwwwwwwww, enters into my brain). And I smell it............... my knees buckled. It still smelled like her baby smell. Mind you nothing else in the bin smelled like that baby smell, but when I open the little hat, where her little head would go in... it smelled like her as a baby.

Hours later, I remember to go and have Matthew smell it... it's nice to know that I'm not a crazy, pregnant women hallucinating smells, he could smell it too. I have it with me and I keep smelling it like I'm addicted, but I'm afraid I'm going to smell it all away so I'll probably tuck it away in one of my drawers.

It's sweet moments like that which are gifts from God. The lingering odors of the past or a picture that brings us back to another place in time.

Life is short and we must capture those moments when they come and thank God that He allows us to remember.

Love,
Aunt Julie and Uncle Tom

YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We better have perfect recolection of those moments when in heaven! They are little confermations sent from our loving Heavenly Father that what we are doing as mothers is what the He would have us do. It must make Him so happy to see that there are still lots of mothers that still enjoy and appreciate being mothers! Thats for sharing.
