Kacey Got Her Ears Pierced

Yesterday, we got Kacey's ears pierced! She was really good about it too. She sat on Matthew's lap, it took a few seconds after it happened for her to realize what was going on. After 2 minutes, she was completely fine. The lady gave her (and Kylie) lollipops... so all was well. Matthew took a few pictures of Kacey this morning to show her pretty new ears.

Kylie's New Toy

Yesterday, we got Kylie this little train set and table. She loves it! When we came home from church, she ran in the house and ran all the way back into her toy room.... mind you, I'm barely in the kitchen with my purse still on my shoulder, Matthew's still in the garage getting Kacey out of the car seat... she had turned all the lights on and all we could hear was the clicking and clammering of her train.

A girly girl...

Matthew picked up a crushed leaf from the floor, and he teased Kylie that it was a spider. (She calls all spiders, "spiderman") We didn't think she'd believe it, but she did! So Kylie thinks it's a spider, and she's screaming and running behind me. He's loving it and teasing her with it.... trying to get it in her face. Poor baby, tears were streaming down her cheeks, her face bright red... traumatic experience.

****
We did family pictures at the portrait studio this past weekend, so I should have those to post in a few weeks. They came out really nice, so I'm looking forward to that. The house is coming along also, the rooms are all nearly done so I'll post more pictures soon... The backyard is gearing up for a pool. We're having it designed as we speak, so more to come on that...

Many Posts of Vacation Pictures

Us on the Merry-Go-Round.

Us, with Uncle Bryan and Aunt Rosanne.

More of Dutch Wonderland

While Kylie was doing this....

Kacey was sound asleep in Uncle Aaron's arms.

More Pictures...

Some from the beach...
Kacey was wiped out!
When Kylie saw Grandpa's riding mower, she was in heaven!
We were all sitting in the family room when Matthew and Kylie came riding past the window waving... it was too cute!
another from the beach... Grandma and Kacey decided to go test out the water.

Kylie...

Kylie had a lot of fun on all the rides... she even loved the tram car on the Boardwalk. This is her with Grandma and Grandpa (Matthew's parents). -I don't think they knew I was taking a picture of them :) Kylie now repeats the saying, "watch the tram car please." It doesn't get old or anything like that... yeah! :)

Pretty Baby Kacey

She really has more hair than it lets on in these photos... maybe I'm a mother in denial :) But to me, she doesn't seem that bald. It must be the lighting (wink, wink).

Enjoying the Rides

Kylie on a kiddie water ride. There was a little hill in it where she got splashed... which is why she's covering her face.

Visit with Oma

The girls with Oma. Kylie and Kacey are her only great grandchildren, so far.

(Oma is German for Grandmother, she's my grandmother for those of you who don't know)

Not a happy camper...

Poor Kacey is about to pop 2 more teeth, the other one on the bottom and one on the top. She is miserable. She can't sleep for more than 30-45 minutes at a time... needless to say, you can guess how often we were up last night! She makes the cutest little face, scrunches her little nose and makes an "O" with her mouth, and she lets out quite a little whine. It's rough. And she's running a temperature. I can't get her below 101, I'm nervous to see what will happen tonight. I know it's going to spike. My poor little baby.

Pretty New Sailor Dresses

Thank you Aunt Laura for our new dresses!
They looked so precious today for church... I'd have a bow glued on Kacey's head (like I did with Kylie) except for the fact that within minutes, Kacey takes the bow off, puts it in her mouth, somehow unties the bow, and starts choking on it. Needless to say, we go without a bow now. (and I just can't bring myself to put one of those big headband things around her head)

Kacey's 9 month appt...

They are so cute together. Once again, they are dressed the same :) Kacey's face is a little red from the carrots she ate for lunch... (they seem to stain her mouth for a few hours after she eats them)

We went for Kacey's well-child check up today. She is 16 lbs, 10 oz and 28.5 inches long. She is in the 75% for height, and the 25% for weight. She's just like Kylie, tall and thin! :) We were happy today, no shots for Kacey so that makes life a litte easier. Kacey's usually not herself for 2 or 3 days, recovering after those shots....

***I've got to tell this story. I bought the cd of one of the new songs that I just love, and I play it every now and again while the girls and I are in the car. I don't think I'm playing it all the time, but I must be... it came on the radio the other day, and Kylie was singing right along. Matthew looks at me like, what is going on!!! It's a hard song too. (you might have heard it, "Good Directions" by Billy Currington, it's country). The look on Matthew's face was priceless... Kylie's singing away... "way up yonder past the caution light, there's a little country store with an old coke sign, you've gotta stop and ask ...." So funny!!! She's such a smart little thing!

Catch Up!

We've been in for a week... there's still ALOT of boxes left, but I really think we're coming along. These are the only 2 rooms I'm proud of so far: living room and dining room.

The kitchen, nook, and family room are on their way... I still need to decide where I want my pictures to be hung. The bedrooms, you ask... are still a work in process!! Kylie's is purple and Kacey's is soft yellow... each with precious little borders. Unpacking them is a bear! My girls (ages 3 and 9 months) have more clothes than Matthew and I put together... and we have a lot of clothes!!!

Also, if you can see... I've got my mom's hummels in my hutch in the dining room :) They look so pretty!

Moving Day

Thursday and Friday are the big days! Deliveries, installations, and decorating. Yippeeee...

And, how do you know your a mom? When all you can think about is how you're decorating your daughters' bedrooms. That's how!!! Kylie and Kacey's bedrooms are all I can think about, down to every last detail. Pictures to come, of course. I'm just waiting on Matthew, I'm the brains and creativity behind it... he's the brawn, gotta put it all together and hang everything perfectly.

Yeah! We have a tooth!

Kacey has been so irritable lately, crying all the time.
Lo and behold, we found a tooth! One down, many many more to go...

It was very difficult taking a picture of the inside of her mouth, so this will have to do... my mom's desparately trying to hold her mouth open while I'm trying to time it just right with the delay of the digital camera.
It's there, bottom right (her left).

Our New Home

Here are the inside pictures. We signed the sales contract today and financing should be settled in 2 weeks... so estimated move-in date is June 1st! This is the living room (carpet) and dining room (tile). Nine foot ceilings and plantation shutters on every single window (even the sliding glass door)! To the left are the stairs to the upstairs, where there are 2 master bedrooms and 3 additional bedrooms.

French doors lead to the study, as soon as you walk through the front door this is on your right... like our Utah house (if you saw it).

This is the family room, look close at the tile... it's hard to tell, but the tile isn't just 12x12 ceramic tile, but it's a patterned assortment of squares and rectangles of all different sizes. It's so pretty!

This is the kitchen and breakfast nook. Love the cabinets! The sink is in the island. And there's a huge walk-in pantry (on the corner, like my Utah house if you remember). Behind the kichen is the laundry room, a half bath, and bedroom #6, which will be a toy room.

This is the backyard... fake grass again :)

Happy Mother's Day to ME!

Now that's what I call a Mother's Day gift!
We've put an offer in, they are countering... we know their counter offer,
and we're going to accept it!!!!

(6 bedrooms, 3.5 baths... nearly twice the size of my other house so plenty of room to grow)

***Once all is said and done, and things are more finalized, I will post pictures of the inside.

Up and running...

We decided to go and buy another battery charger, it was easier than trying to find our other one...

A quick picture before church... you would see one of me also, but seems that I am always the last one to be dressed and ready... and I was still in curlers at this point!

Daddy's trying to learn how to do pigtails with Kylie's hair... it's a learning experience to say the least. So far, I've had to bail him out everytime. :)

The battery's dead in the digital camera...

and heavens if I know where the charger is in the mix of things! So, no pictures for a few days. But rest assured, Kylie and Kacey are still brilliant and gorgeous (as am I, if anyone cares!) :P

But, I wanted to mention that Kylie started PRESCHOOL on Tuesday. I had her all pepped for it the day before. We woke up early and got ready, and she walked in and told the teacher (Miss Patti), "I'm going to school today!" She was there for 2.5 hours and did great! They learned about the letter 'u,' so now all I hear is about umbrellas and clouds and rain. She's also learning the Pledge of Alligence.

She goes every Tues. and Thurs. for 2.5 hours... it's wonderful. She has such a blast! We're so proud of our little big girl! It's also nice because she's the youngest in there. At first, I was a little nervous about that because it's a class for 3-4 year olds... and she's a young 3. But my wonderful Aunt Judy explained that it's great because Kylie can constantly be learning from the other kids. And I really do believe that to be true!!!

Finally...

We are in our vacation rental right now... vacation rental meaning it's professionally decorated and everything you could ever need is supplied with the home. It's really lovely, I'm debating on telling the owner that I "broke" the dishes so I can just pay him for them and take them with me! They are gorgeous.
We packed up everything else in our 3rd pod on Friday. Poor Kylie, she went to my parents' house. So on Saturday when we went back to the house to gather up our clothes and a few other items, she was traumatized. This whole move has really affected her. First off, this past week she refuses to be left alone for more than 2 minutes at a time. That means she won't nap, and she'll only fall asleep with Matthew laying in bed next to her. If I'd go on another level, she'd come running and yelling, "I'm coming with you!" Poor child, I think she really thought we'd forget her. Anyway, so Saturday she walked through the empty house... she went to her bedroom and was frantic. "My bed, what happened, where'd it go!" Her face was bright red and she was trying to fight back the tears.
Now, we are here. She keeps asking if we like our new home, which I think is to reassure her that we like it and we'll be here for a bit.

As for our plans, I know everyone's wondering what the heck we are doing... well, we are wondering the same thing. I told Matthew that he's got one month, May 15th, to decide if he wants to take one of the various job opportunities in front of him. (for those who know, we rejected the Charlotte, NC offer... wasn't good enough) Anyways, the other runnings are Denver, Seattle, Pheonix, and Houston or Dallas/FT. Worth. So, he's got one month... if he's still undecided at that time, it's a buyer's market and I'm buying me a house and we're staying in Vegas!!!

Happy Easter

Kacey began the morning with baby cereal and apples, a wonderful way to wake up! You can see she is such a doll, has such a sweet personality.
She has this smile where she crinkles her nose and cheeses it big time. All you see are these little gums... this is the start of that smile. It's precious.
Kylie knew the Easter Bunny was downstairs hiding Easter Eggs, hence the gate to keep her in her bedroom... but smart little thing was trying to get out to see him! She ended up getting stuck. :)

We have limited scenary in our house right now :) The house is pretty much packed, other than beds (which are on the ground) and a few other items. We've moved our stuff into PODS and we officially move out on Sunday, into a rental until we find a permanent home. I keep telling Matthew that he better be ready, this time I'm finding the home of my dreams! More to come on that...
