Yummy Strawberry Jam

Today during the younger girls naptimes, Kylie and I made jam!

She was so excited about it, and she was such good helper. I gave her a plastic knife and she now knows the proper way to cut a strawberry.
Kylie was also in charge of the masher. (better her than me)

And... Voila!

We have JAM!Baby Kadyn woke up at the very end :)
We were licking our fingers, the jam tastes so good! So, somewhere along the lines I got the numbers mixed up. I needed less fresh fruit and more pectin. (I love the summertime fresh fruit sales!) So I've got loads more fruit left and we'll be making a pectin and jars run first thing tomorrow morning.

Next on the list is another batch of strawberry, then a batch of blueberry, then a mixed fruit batch (of everything leftover!).

I've never made jam, but always wanted to try. What a fun little bonding time for you and Kylie.

That's funny, I just made my first batch of jam yesterday too!! I made Kaden stir every 5 minutes
(I didn't realize that you have to do that for 30 minutes!!) Anyway, good thing we've got some helpers :)
