I Hate...

the way they make little girl's shorts... has anyone noticed this? They are so small and so short! I've been going through my girls' clothes, passing down things from Kylie to Kacey's closet and from Kacey to Kadyn's closet (yes, our new name broadcasted!)... and of course there's been some back-to-school shopping we need to make room for (even though Kylie's the only one who goes and it's only Preschool, all 3 girls are getting new matching outfits in a big UPS package arriving today). BUT I know it's bad when the 2T's barely fit my Kacey who's just pushing the 5th percentile as a 23 month old. That really bothers me, it's like setting these little girls up for confidence issues and tighter/smaller clothing as teenagers.

Seriously, have any of you noticed this or am I just a raging pregnant woman? Well, I have found a solution. I've been buying boy shorts/even jeans and khakis for the girls, they're longer, roomier, and lots of times come with cute cargo pockets on the sides! AND you can actually see the shorts on their legs, they don't just cover the upper part of the thigh and disappear when the child sits, they actually go down the thigh a bit... and funny, the boys clothes fit true to size. I just wanna smack those big wig kid designer people!

*****

Not to be a huge complainer, I'll end this on a nice note... but I have to share the cutest thing Kacey did this morning. Matthew was getting ready for work and she goes into our closet... she puts on one of my high heels and starts walking around, "I'm a Princess, I'm a Princess!"
Look at her pose, she is too much!!! :)

You are so right! I bought shorts from Target for my daughter and they are way too short!! I'll have to check out the boys stuff. Thanks for the tip!

No, it's not just you. When I went to buy the girls shorts a few months ago, I was so disappointed by what they had. My girls aren't small anyway, but still, I think they run too small.
I usually buy for Haley from the boys dept. anyway, because that's what she likes. I ended up getting skorts from walmart for Ashley. I will have to check out the boys dept. for her too though.

I don't know first-hand because I don't have girls, but I've heard Jennifer Jensen complain about this same thing. She also said that she was going to try the boys' section for Alexis. BTW love the new name, I was wondering if you were going to stick with the "K" theme. I'm from a family of all "J" names. Although, I remember my mom getting us mixed up all the time. We had 3 girls as well and one boy. We pretty much just learned to answer to whatever name my mom yelled!:)

YES, we have that problem too. Funny cause I wore short shorts as a kid,but mine will not. We just went to old navy and found a few shorts that are knee length and a few skirts too. I did have to buy a 6 for Ry in one skirt though so it was long enough. Thank goodness for the adjustable waist.
By the way, old navy is having a killer sale right now. I saved more than I spent!

I think the whole bermuda shorts saved us girls right now. Thats pretty much the only shorts the girls wear.

haha!! I love your "rant"...and I agree! I hate that they put 1/2" (or less) inseams in little girls shorts! sheesh! I have found a couple "bermuda" shorts at old navy...they are a great length and actually LOOK like shorts by the end of the day! :)

I was just telling Derek that Kacey seems so much older to me than Jack. She seems so grown up, even the video you posted of her singing. She's such a big girl!!
