I love cooking for our big meal! I set the alarm for 6:30 to get started, and I made enough food to feed an army... Our "buffet style" menu included: turkey (that just fell off the bone, perfect!), glazed spiral honey ham, creamy tomato parmesan bisque, butternut squash soup, mashed potatoes, gravy, yams, German potatoes, stuffing, cornbread, croissants, rolls, pumpkin bread (with a glaze that is to die for!), banana bread, corn, green beans, lima beans, peas, baby carrots, cauliflower, and pumpkin/dutch apple/cherry pies. And get this, I forgot the cranberry sauce in the fridge... didn't realize it until we were doing dishes! Also, those are Sparkling Grape Juices in the front :)
***Are any of you waking up early tomorrow for sales? I heard Target is 50% off all toys. My mom and I are starting our journeys 3:30 am.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Now, how much of that food did Matt put away today?
Uncle Jim spent Thanksgiving dinner at our home and brought the real deal... mince meat and pumpkin pie!
Blessings from Lancaster County as we enter this joyous and wonderful season.
Love,
Aunt Julie and Uncle Tom
happy turkey day!
Wow, that food sounds amazing!!I have to say... I'm not brave enough to venture out the day after to shop. Good luck finding some awesome deals!!
Yum, girl. That sounds so good. As for the sales, I just had to go to Best Buy to get a gift for my cousin's birthday tomorrow, and it was more nightmare than I needed. Ever. I try not to leave my house on Black Friday. Not worth the money saved.
Aunt Julie got up at 3:00 a.m. to hit the York, Pa. "Best Buy" for something that our son wanted. The item was being advertised all day long as we watched football yesterday.
Since we live in Lancaster, Pa., we don't get the fliers for "Best Buy" in York. Apparently, there were "ticketed" items and you had to pick up a ticket at, get this, 3:00 a.m. at the store!!
She was so disappointed and swore never to do that again! Yea, sure... wait until next year.
Everything that she wanted at every store she visited was gone... Absolutely, Gone!
I had b-ball practice with the junior high kids. So, while she was out frustrating herself shopping, I was coaching... I'll take coaching over shopping any day!
Uncle Tom
Your menu sounded yummy. My mother in law does the cooking, its the best. She won't allow anyone to help or bring anything.I would rather pay the full price to avoid the madness on shopping the day after.
oh shopping was complete madness, kohls at 3:45 am! but i got such a deal on an electronic item (which will remain nameless because it's one of my husband's Christmas presents) ... that alone made it all worthwhile!
ummm....can I come to your house for Thanksgiving next year? Sounds amazing!
