Thankful Thursday

1. Opportunities. I'll leave it at that for now, but I will say that it's exciting.

2. Baby Kadyn Giggles- once she gets going, she can't stop! Her nose crinkles, I love it!

3. Stickers, stickers, and more stickers! Without them, no one in my house would potty-train .

4. This weather- we've had some nice warm days lately and I just love it... bring on the heat, I'm ready!

5. Strawberry Shortcake. I don't think detail is even needed, it speaks for itself!

Saturday Night Dance Recital

We sat on the Easter Bunny's lap -- I had no idea that he was going to be there... which meant no pre-planning the outfits because I have the cutest yellow Easter dresses, but it all worked out okay. I got a compliment from a stranger on how cute their outfits were so I guess it looked like I planned it that way.
Kylie was so excited even while we were standing in line, she just kept saying: "It's a real bunny!" (Compared to a fake one???) I'm not sure where that came from or what prompted it.

I love Kadyn's face here, she was SOO excited to sit on his lap, she was pulling his whiskers, yanking at his bow. It was too funny.
Us waiting before the recital started.
So we had Kylie's first dance recital. It was cute, I think the anticipation for it was more fun for Kylie. They did their little 45 second routine and that was about all :) But she certainly looked adorable!

Weekly Round-Up

Let's hope this makes it here by Easter, I just bought it this morning. (ps- sitting on the Easter Bunny's lap on Monday... will post pictures, can't wait to see how it goes!)
It's going to be better than the girls playing in all the rocks in our flower beds in the backyard. There's sand on one side and water on the other- looks pretty cool! *****************
Girls Night Out This is from 2 weeks ago (I swiped it off Nicole Bell's Blog if you're thinking deja vu), but it was a super fun night for her birthday at Cheesecake Factory. It's such a fun group of girls, everyone sharing food, eating off everyone else's plates, sharing dessert. I'm scarred for life... Shalisse, I can't believe you don't like whip cream!??... Anyway I got home, fell asleep for about an hour and a half... and Kacey threw up all night long. Good times. I was so tired I had to miss our exclusive Twilight Party the next night... (I know, it was that bad!!!)

Thankful Thursday

1. Outback Steakhouse date night tomorrow night. Not sure if I'm more excited about the Aussie Loaded Cheese Fries or the fact that the meal's free!!! (*I know everyone's going to ask, we get free meals there from an affiliation with Matthew's job)
2. We finally learned all the words to "Happy Little Working Song" from Enchanted. So Kylie, Kacey, and I can sing it from start to finish. I figure that looks better than them always singing the songs from the Twilight Soundtrack.
3. When Matthew's done with Kacey in the bathtub, he bundles her up in her towel and sends her over to me- I'm waiting in her bedroom with her jammies. He finishes Kylie up while Kacey and I snuggle. I love her little face as she runs to me, all soaking wet and smiley. So sweet... I'm really going to miss it when she's older and doesn't do that anymore.
4. Kylie had a field trip today to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. Kylie had the best time!!!! She told me all about it when she got home, she was completely fascinated and has decided that we're going again soon. We're really lucky she's in such a great preschool. I'm sure treking her downtown mid-week, little sisters and all, would not make my to-do list... so it's good she has preschool to give her some of those fun experiences.
5. It was early morning and the big girls were still asleep. I was downstairs with the dog, Matthew was in the shower, Kadyn had woke up and was not happy! I heard her, but I had to finish Maggie up and make a bottle before I could get to her. As I finally got upstairs, I saw Kylie walking back into her bedroom (all groggy and half asleep). She had woken up, gone into Kadyn's bedroom (other side of the house) calmed her down and gave her the pacifier, just to blindly walk back to her room, crawl in bed to fall back asleep... what sacrifice! Good little girl.

Sunday Afternoon Pictures

Somehow we all managed to be ready by 11 am this morning. Church isn't until 1 pm, kinda stinks when it's Fast Sunday :)
So we figured we'd take a bunch of pictures. The weather is gorgeous here, mid-70's right now! However, the battery was dead in our fancy camera because someone- (who'll remain nameless) who always tells his wife how to properly handle and use the camera- forgot to turn it off the last time HE used it. But HE will remain nameless :) So the pictures aren't as good quality-wise because it's the old camera.

Yup, it's National Turquoise and Brown day. :)

*And we might as well keep track because it's going to be obvious, no need to dance around it... this will be dress 1. I think I have 5, same style in various colors. What can I say, I really liked it.

SOCCER

We started soccer this week. Kylie was so excited, practice was at 6 pm... by noon, she was dressed cleats and shin guards and all ready and waiting.
Matthew's the coach :) Kylie even calls him "coach" at practice. Matthew's got major athletic skills... give him a sport, ANY sport (not even basketball, which he is top notch) and he can be one of the best. Although these are just 5 yr olds, so I doubt they would have known the difference between him and someone like say ME for example :)Gotta love them, they're trimmed in pink!

My little sweetness...

Luck of the draw gave us the color "Carolina Blue" -Matthew's favorite color. Kylie had the best time- she could run around forever! And she's got 6 of her best friends on the team with her. (James, Riley, Mason, Savannah, Demarie, and Jaxson) I can't wait for games- starting April 18th!!!

Thankful Thursday

Yesterday, Kylie and Kadyn had dr appts. Thankfully, Kylie did not need any shots. I told her she wouldn't, but I completely didn't know... I just didn't want to deal with the drama beforehand. (fyi- Kylie's in the 97% for height, we all knew that. The dr said he estimates that she'll be about 5'11" and Kadyn might be 5'9", Kacey then being the shortest... although all of them still towering over me. I predict Kylie being my height by middle school... Kadyn's in the 75% for height and 30% for weight (?) Dr told me to feed her more... umm, hello... did you see her cheeks -top and bottom. Anyway, I'm feeding her more)...

POINT: Afterwards, we went to Burger King for a fun little time. It was packed, we couldn't get our normal seats, sooo many kids. I was up ordering, my mom was situating Kadyn and feeding her. And she told Kylie to watch her sister with all the kids there so Kacey didn't get lost in the mix or trampled by the bigger kids. As I was walking closer to the Playland with all our food, I see Kacey by the door and Kylie politely stopping/yelling-not loudly but being forceful to another mother who was about to slam Kacey's fingers in the corner of the door. And I was really proud of her. First off, for listening and keeping Kacey close by and keeping a watchful eye out... and second for assessing the situation and knowing she had only seconds to stop this lady who wasn't paying attention to the children around her- I really think that took courage, this lady was a stanger. And third (mind you this is all a matter of seconds) Kylie knew she wasn't allowed to yank Kacey back, because we always worry about Kacey's arms and her breaking it again... so Kylie knew she wasn't allowed to grab her. Kylie's such a good big sister!

Sunday Afternoon Pictures

Explaination in next post as to why Kacey's not in here :)

Tea Cup Party

We celebrated Kylie's birthday (again) with a little party with all her 5 year old girlfriends... we had a tea cup party! Of course we started all the fun and festivities with a Tea Party! (well, it was Sprite)Then we played Tea Cup Bingo...Poor Little Kacey missed a majority of it, because she was upstairs passed out on our rocking chair. We think she's got food poisoning, not pointing any fingers- Costco hot dog- but she was up from 1-5 the night before. So was I, not fun. Now, we colored our spouts for....Pin the Spout on the Tea Pot. I'm pretty proud of my Tea Pot drawing-- originally that was a delegated responsibility to Matthew -you should have seen his!!! I should put that on the blog! HA!Matthew couldn't resist getting some of cute little man, Cole. Then we opened presents. She got such cute stuff! We sang and ate cupcakes.I had another game- musical tea cups- but the girls were ready to play outside... so they played outside!

All in all, super fun time had by all... I think I'm going to keep all my stuff so I can do it again for Kacey's birthday. The girls had a blast. And huge thank you Missy for helping me throughout! Somehow I always rely on her to help me clean up... and she always does!

*********

We called it an early evening with:

(HUGE Thank you to Rochelle and Steve who had it at my door by 8:15 am, I only wanted the Target one, 3 disc special!!!!)

*I had to miss a twilight party :( because of the minimal sleep I had the night before. But I couldn't go to bed until Matthew and I watched it once, we'll probably hit the bonus disc tonight!!!

5th Birthday!

I can't believe my baby is 5!
Seriously, when did this happen?

(this is crazy madness pictures, but we've got family far away who'll enjoy the pictures so instead of choosing, I posted all of them)
*********

I think this has been her best birthday of all, because she's been anticipating not being 4 anymore... and she's been so excited and waiting for her birthday to come! We did a little decorating downstairs so she'd have something special when she woke up.
They've got different Princess rings on each one... so cute! "How old are you?" For lunch, we went to Peter Piper Pizza What's a party w/o balloons, thanks Yaya and Papa.

Had to get one of the curls!Kacey's thinking, "but I came here to play, I can eat later!" The presents lineup:These are the coolest, Mom approved little girl nails ever. So adorable.Pink baseballs with bats... 2 so Kacey got one also... that way she can defend herself! Disney songs CD I know I'm biased, but she's adorable! Trying to decide which one...

Okay, I'm tired... let's go home. We have no pictures of Matthew, he was behind the camera the entire time.

Back at home... still more presents.

Princess bathrobe and slippers.

She's learning about money, she likes money. She's got a little wallet and everything.

We got her Polly Pocket like crazy, she made out with a whole bunch of fun new things. Thank you to everyone who sent gifts, money, cards, and called today. She's relishing in every moment of her special day. Kylie's ready to play with all ner new things! (so is Kacey... personally, I'm ready for another cupcake!)
