Moving Day

Thursday and Friday are the big days! Deliveries, installations, and decorating. Yippeeee...

And, how do you know your a mom? When all you can think about is how you're decorating your daughters' bedrooms. That's how!!! Kylie and Kacey's bedrooms are all I can think about, down to every last detail. Pictures to come, of course. I'm just waiting on Matthew, I'm the brains and creativity behind it... he's the brawn, gotta put it all together and hang everything perfectly.

Yeah! We have a tooth!

Kacey has been so irritable lately, crying all the time.
Lo and behold, we found a tooth! One down, many many more to go...

It was very difficult taking a picture of the inside of her mouth, so this will have to do... my mom's desparately trying to hold her mouth open while I'm trying to time it just right with the delay of the digital camera.
It's there, bottom right (her left).

Our New Home

Here are the inside pictures. We signed the sales contract today and financing should be settled in 2 weeks... so estimated move-in date is June 1st! This is the living room (carpet) and dining room (tile). Nine foot ceilings and plantation shutters on every single window (even the sliding glass door)! To the left are the stairs to the upstairs, where there are 2 master bedrooms and 3 additional bedrooms.

French doors lead to the study, as soon as you walk through the front door this is on your right... like our Utah house (if you saw it).

This is the family room, look close at the tile... it's hard to tell, but the tile isn't just 12x12 ceramic tile, but it's a patterned assortment of squares and rectangles of all different sizes. It's so pretty!

This is the kitchen and breakfast nook. Love the cabinets! The sink is in the island. And there's a huge walk-in pantry (on the corner, like my Utah house if you remember). Behind the kichen is the laundry room, a half bath, and bedroom #6, which will be a toy room.

This is the backyard... fake grass again :)

Happy Mother's Day to ME!

Now that's what I call a Mother's Day gift!
We've put an offer in, they are countering... we know their counter offer,
and we're going to accept it!!!!

(6 bedrooms, 3.5 baths... nearly twice the size of my other house so plenty of room to grow)

***Once all is said and done, and things are more finalized, I will post pictures of the inside.

Up and running...

We decided to go and buy another battery charger, it was easier than trying to find our other one...

A quick picture before church... you would see one of me also, but seems that I am always the last one to be dressed and ready... and I was still in curlers at this point!

Daddy's trying to learn how to do pigtails with Kylie's hair... it's a learning experience to say the least. So far, I've had to bail him out everytime. :)

The battery's dead in the digital camera...

and heavens if I know where the charger is in the mix of things! So, no pictures for a few days. But rest assured, Kylie and Kacey are still brilliant and gorgeous (as am I, if anyone cares!) :P

But, I wanted to mention that Kylie started PRESCHOOL on Tuesday. I had her all pepped for it the day before. We woke up early and got ready, and she walked in and told the teacher (Miss Patti), "I'm going to school today!" She was there for 2.5 hours and did great! They learned about the letter 'u,' so now all I hear is about umbrellas and clouds and rain. She's also learning the Pledge of Alligence.

She goes every Tues. and Thurs. for 2.5 hours... it's wonderful. She has such a blast! We're so proud of our little big girl! It's also nice because she's the youngest in there. At first, I was a little nervous about that because it's a class for 3-4 year olds... and she's a young 3. But my wonderful Aunt Judy explained that it's great because Kylie can constantly be learning from the other kids. And I really do believe that to be true!!!

Finally...

We are in our vacation rental right now... vacation rental meaning it's professionally decorated and everything you could ever need is supplied with the home. It's really lovely, I'm debating on telling the owner that I "broke" the dishes so I can just pay him for them and take them with me! They are gorgeous.
We packed up everything else in our 3rd pod on Friday. Poor Kylie, she went to my parents' house. So on Saturday when we went back to the house to gather up our clothes and a few other items, she was traumatized. This whole move has really affected her. First off, this past week she refuses to be left alone for more than 2 minutes at a time. That means she won't nap, and she'll only fall asleep with Matthew laying in bed next to her. If I'd go on another level, she'd come running and yelling, "I'm coming with you!" Poor child, I think she really thought we'd forget her. Anyway, so Saturday she walked through the empty house... she went to her bedroom and was frantic. "My bed, what happened, where'd it go!" Her face was bright red and she was trying to fight back the tears.
Now, we are here. She keeps asking if we like our new home, which I think is to reassure her that we like it and we'll be here for a bit.

As for our plans, I know everyone's wondering what the heck we are doing... well, we are wondering the same thing. I told Matthew that he's got one month, May 15th, to decide if he wants to take one of the various job opportunities in front of him. (for those who know, we rejected the Charlotte, NC offer... wasn't good enough) Anyways, the other runnings are Denver, Seattle, Pheonix, and Houston or Dallas/FT. Worth. So, he's got one month... if he's still undecided at that time, it's a buyer's market and I'm buying me a house and we're staying in Vegas!!!

Happy Easter

Kacey began the morning with baby cereal and apples, a wonderful way to wake up! You can see she is such a doll, has such a sweet personality.
She has this smile where she crinkles her nose and cheeses it big time. All you see are these little gums... this is the start of that smile. It's precious.
Kylie knew the Easter Bunny was downstairs hiding Easter Eggs, hence the gate to keep her in her bedroom... but smart little thing was trying to get out to see him! She ended up getting stuck. :)

We have limited scenary in our house right now :) The house is pretty much packed, other than beds (which are on the ground) and a few other items. We've moved our stuff into PODS and we officially move out on Sunday, into a rental until we find a permanent home. I keep telling Matthew that he better be ready, this time I'm finding the home of my dreams! More to come on that...

Shhh... Kacey's Sleeping

Whenever I tell Kylie "Shhhhh," she always says back, "Kacey's sleeping."

Kacey likes to snuggle up to anything and stick her little head in something while she sleeps. This is one of the few times she'll sleep in her crib. Usually, she sleeps in the middle of Matthew and me, more often than not it's my arm that she snuggles up to. Although, many times we wake up with her head in Matthew's chest and her feet kicking me!!! (notice her cute little feet are crossed) :)

Lovely Weather

The weather has been fabulous the past few weeks, about 75-80, no humidity.

You like that grass in that picture... it's fake grass... only in Las Vegas!!!

Our fun new toy blows bubbles, so Mommy and Daddy don't have too...

Kylie loved it, so did Maggie!

Daddy said sit... so they did :)

Kacey missed the fun outside, her and Winnie the Pooh needed a nap.

DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS!

The girls had their doctor appointments yesterday- Kacey's 6 month check up and Kylie's 3 yr. Kacey is 15 lbs, 12 oz and 26.5 in long. She is in the 50% for her weight and height, so if she was in a room with 100 other 6 month olds she'd be taller and heavier than 50, and she'd be shorter and lighter than 50... Kylie was 33 lbs and 38.5 in tall. She's in the 50% for her weight too, which I was shocked at because the girl is so skinny. She's also in the 90% for her height!

Kylie loves the doctor. She was so agreeable, standing on the scale, getting poked and prodded. I was so proud of my little girl! She's got a doctor toy set, which she plays with a lot so she was very familar with all his little tools. She took deep breaths and touched her toes, let him look in her eyes, ears, mouth. She was such a good girl, and the appointment was close to naptime. I thought for sure she'd be a crank! She was lucky too, she got to walk away without getting shots.

Poor Kacey, she got 3 shots... and it was bad. The first shot, she turned bright red... the following two came really quick... and it was one of those cries where she keeps it in and you know in a few seconds the scream is going to come out. It's so cute- her face gets bright red, she scrunches shut her eyes, little tears find their way out, and she SCREAMS! She's actually been struggling since then. When Kylie was little, shots didn't affect her at all. I can tell Kacey's legs are very sore, they hurt when she moves them and she lets out a piercing cry. Last night, Matthew tried everything to get her to stop crying... nothing would work. She's got a low grade temperature, she barely slept all night. Poor little thing. Hopefully today will be better.

Birthday Party for Kylie!

Kylie's 3 years old tomorrow, March 18th. So we celebrated her party today! We went to Peter Piper Pizza, ate yummy pizza and played games. We had a cake and opened all sorts of fun presents! Look at that hand placement on the basketball, she's a natural already!

As you can see, her favorite presents were a new pair of shoes (she's crazy about shoes!). She took off her sandals for the news ones... Matthew couldn't put them on her fast enough. She also got drums. Joyous. Drums.

Updates...

Kylie's going to be 3 on Sunday! We're going to have a party for her on Saturday, so pictures will be coming.

The exciting news is that we sold our house! We were on the market for 2 weeks, and we got a contract. They came in $5,000 less than our asking price, but the kicker is that they don't have a real estate agent, so we are saving a bundle on commissions. AND, it's a fast escrow, we have to be out by the end of the month! Where are we going you ask??? we'll see... more to come :)

Matching Girls

Yup, I swore I would never dress them alike. And now, I just can't help myself! They are too cute. I've even got matching easter dresses for them too.

I can't believe Kacey is 6 months old! Y esteday was technically her half birthday. She is getting so big and has such a little personality. Yesterday night, Matthew and I heared Kacey giggling. We tip-toed over to her bedroom, Kacey was in her swing and Kylie had climbed into Kacey's crib. Kylie was throwing toys up in the air and catching them, and Kacey was laughing so hard at her sister! Kacey thought that was the best thing, and Kylie was thrilled to have an audience. The two of them make quite the pair, I'm gonna have my hands full in a few years (as if I don't already!).
Last night, Matthew went downstairs to give Kacey her dinner. I keep telling everyone that she loves vegetables, and it's really hard to get her to eat fruits. He decides that I must be crazy, so he tries to give her peaches. Two minutes later, I hear him say that Kacey's not hungry and she won't eat. Lo and behold, I come downstairs 10 minutes later, and she chowing down on sweet potatoes! This child will not eat fruits, and then we can't shovel the peas/carrots/squash/etc down her mouth fast enough. She's so funny like that.

Daddy's Business Trip

Matthew went to Charlotte, NC on business for a few days. The company gave him courtside tickets to the Charlotte Bobcats game (they were playing the Sixers). And, when I say courtside, I mean literally courtside.... Needless to say, Matthew was thrilled!

More Disney pictures...

The most memorable event throughout our whole vacataion was when we went to see the Aladdin show. We had the best seats, right up front... and the show starts out like the movie, with the Big Tiger's mouth. Well, if you've ever been around our house when the movie is on, you'd know that Kylie loves the tiger. She always yells, "here comes the tiger, here comes the tiger!" So, in the middle of the theater with the hundreds of people completely silent, my child yells out (just like she does at home), "here comes the Tiger!" Everyone chuckled, it was hilarious! We will never forget that! :)
This was us at Goofy's Kitchen for Brunch. We were so tired. This was the morning Matthew had Kylie up at the crack of dawn! The characters walk all around while you were eating, needless to say Kylie was slightly cranky, so she was a tad bit moody when some of the characters she didn't know came around... like the Mad Hatter... not good :)

This is the Little Mermaid version of the Merry-Go-Round. Kylie loved it!

How pretty is Kacey?!? She's even more adorable in person, her little personality is starting to shine through.

We're waiting for the parade to start... Kylie loves popcorn, and she'll share but only giving you one at a time.

Family photo!

Disneyland Pictures

We had a BLAST in Disneyland! Kylie had the best time, Dumbo was her favorite ride. We met Goofy, Minnie Mouse, and Chip. We saw Mr. Incredible, Sully from Monsters, and we had the best seats for the parades. Kylie loved the Disneyland parade, with all the lights and the princesses. Her eyes were glued on the Loin King float. She was heartbroken when the parade was over, so we had to go the following night also.
And of course, we rode the rides. Much to Matthew's enjoyment, Kylie's very tall for her age (she must get it from me, haha) so she was able to meet the height requirements for almost everything. Matthew had her on the Matterhorn Bobsleds, Pirates, Haunted Mansion (which freaked her out to say the least!) and like 50 other rides. I had to put my foot down with the Tower of Terror, after all she's only two! :) He woke her up at 6 am (which has got to be a form of child abuse) for the early entry admission and they went and rode even more rides. Kacey, Yaya (my mom), and I decided sit that one out and sleep!

Hope everyone likes the pictures... we had such a wonderful time together!
